Rostrel
NDIS payroll

Payroll for NDIS providers with complex awards.

Rostrel handles the hard part of NDIS payroll — the SCHADS Award — by costing penalties, overtime, sleepovers and broken shifts as you roster, so your pay run is already correct before it starts.

The SCHADS Award (MA000100) is one of the most complex modern awards in the country. Generic payroll software assumes a simple hourly rate; NDIS providers deal with penalty tiers, overtime thresholds, sleepover allowances, broken-shift rules and per-level classifications that all changed on 1 July 2026. That mismatch is where underpayment and overpayment both come from.

Why NDIS payroll is a "complex award" problem

A single support worker's fortnight can include weekday, evening, night, Saturday, Sunday, public-holiday and sleepover work — each at a different rate — plus overtime once thresholds are crossed and a broken-shift allowance when a shift is split. Get one classification or penalty wrong across dozens of workers and the error compounds every pay run. The SCHADS changes now in effect include:

How Rostrel handles complex-award payroll

Award interpretation at roster time

Rostrel applies the correct SCHADS penalty, overtime, sleepover and broken-shift rules as the shift is scheduled — so pay is costed before it's worked, not reconstructed afterward. New to the award? Read our SCHADS Award basics guide.

Current minimums built in

Rostrel uses the +4.75% MA000100 rates effective from the first full pay period on or after 1 July 2026.

Sleepover and broken-shift logic

Including the 1 June 2026 rule treating pre- and post-sleepover work as one shift for overtime.

Payday-Super ready

Because pay is calculated per shift and per pay run, super obligations move with each run under the new 12% guarantee.

Timesheets from the roster

Approved shifts flow to timesheets without re-keying, so the hours you pay match the hours you rostered — and claimed.

How Rostrel compares

Many providers run a dedicated payroll package alongside their NDIS software and reconcile the two by hand. Rostrel folds SCHADS-aware costing into the roster itself, from $299/month. For providers with unusual arrangements, we're honest in our comparisons about where a specialist payroll product may still be needed.

Pricing

From $299/month (up to 10 active participants), scaling to $349, $699 or $899 as your participant count grows — unlimited support workers on every plan, no setup fee, no lock-in. The Free tier (up to 8 support workers and 15 active participants) launches 1 August 2026. See full pricing and plans.

Frequently asked questions

Does Rostrel apply the +4.75% SCHADS increase?

Yes. Rostrel uses the MA000100 minimums effective from the first full pay period on or after 1 July 2026, per the Fair Work Commission decision of 2 June 2026.

Can it calculate sleepover and broken-shift pay?

Yes, including the 1 June 2026 rule treating pre- and post-sleepover work as a single shift for overtime.

Is Rostrel ready for Payday Super and the 12% super guarantee?

Yes. Pay is calculated per shift and per pay run, so super obligations move with each run under the changes effective 1 July 2026.

What about the new SCHADS classification structure?

The single new classification structure replaces Schedules B/C/E/F from 1 October 2027, with a provisional 15% interim increase flagged for Schedule E home-care workers from 1 October 2026. Rostrel will reflect these as they take effect.

How much does it cost?

From $299/month, priced per active participant with unlimited support workers. A free tier (up to 8 support workers and 15 active participants) launches 1 August 2026. See pricing and plans.
